Recumbent Folds are porcelain slabs dropped from varying heights and forces onto the ground. This is a collaboration with natural forces and chance. Gravity plus the specific material properties of the porcelain: being clay/porcelain clay in particular, how thick the slab is, how wet or dry it is, the humidity in the air, the force with which I drop it, all collaborate to create the shape.
